A surgical guide is a custom-made appliance that helps the dentists to place the dental implant in a very precise location within the bone. In order to create a surgical guide, digital impressions are taken of the arch that we are placing the implants. A 3D CT scan is also performed. This data is then transferred to a special software where Dr. Mendigutia designs the surgical guide. The guide is seated over the patient’s teeth at the time of the procedure and guides the implant into the correct position.
Advatages of surgical guides:
• Improved clinical outcomes.
• Promotes consistent optimal implant placement.
• Faster atruamatic surgery.
